If we don't use the brain the brain power will diminish?

It really is a case of 'use it or lose it' when it comes to the brain. Some scientists even go so far as to say that there is really no such thing as age-related memory loss. The problem, they claim, is that adults become mentally lazy. Their jobs become routine and their evenings are spent absorbing a constant stream of TV, all of which dulls the brain. However, there is no agreement on the best way to exercise the mind. Some scientists believe that solving crosswords provides a good workout for the brain, while others consider this to be of little use, since it can quickly become yet another routine. The essential feature of any beneficial activity seems to be that the brain must be constantly confronted with new experiences. Something like learning a new language may be the best sort of workout.
