Why is Hyperion associated with light?

Hyperion was the Titan God of Light. The Titans are the parents of many of the Olympian gods and goddesses worshiped by the ancient Greeks.

Hyperion means he who goes before the Sun.' he is sometimes called the " Titan of light'. Hyperion is the father of the sun, moon, and dawn. Hyperion married his sister,  Theia, and they had three children. They were  Helios or the Sun, Eos or Dawn, and Selene or the Moon. So, Hyperion's children were said to bring light to the world.
